Where Marquette Park is

Marquette Park is at 6743 S. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood. The CTA park guide locates it around W. Marquette Road (6700 South) and S. Kedzie Avenue (3200 West). If you’re getting oriented around the area, the Oak Lawn, Illinois visitor guide covers the nearby community.

The park’s development was slowed by drainage problems and the size of the site, and improvements often departed from the original plan. It became part of the Chicago Park District in 1934, when the city’s 22 park commissions were consolidated.
